Psion File Types

This page does not concern the format of Psion files (If you do want to learn about them look at the Psionics Files)

This page is about recognition of Psion File types in Windows. Namely use of extensions and Icons.

The biggest single source of icons is included with PsiWin 2.x in \pragram files\psion\psiwin\icons.dll. To implement these in Windows follow these steps

1. Open the "File Types" section of the "Folder Options" dialog in My Computer
2. Click New
3. Type a name
4. Type the extension
5. Where applicable select a program to open the file with (e.g. Notepad for OPL source files)
6. Choose an icon
7. Select okay then close
8. Repeat as neccesary

N.B> For DOs based programs be sure to include any neccesary syntax, most notably "%1" after the program name.
